StartUp Sussex is a student enterprise programme run by the Sussex Innovation Centre for University of Sussex students or recent graduates. This programme offers support to students with entrepreneurial ideas to develop viable business models and pitch for prize money that will help make those ideas a reality.
Ellie loved working with the manager of our Catalyst team, Simon Chuter on this programme during her year with the team. This ran during term time from October to March, with weekly workshops for students and recent graduates to learn from Simon and other business people. Ellie helped Simon run the workshops by ordering catering for the events, setting up the rooms and taking the register. She also ran the social media channels for StartUp Sussex and its social enterprise award called the Social Impact Prize. It was great to help the students build on their ideas and see them finish with professional and innovative business plans and pitches.
