Challenge Catalyst - how can we help your company grow in 2017?
It was noted this month by Nigel Davey from SME Needs that there is a lack of me in our Catalyst team photos and on our new website. This is partly as I absolutely hate being photographed, but mainly as I want to showcase our team and their achievements - they are the stars of this show.
It’s a stance once taken by Alfred Hitchcock, or more recently Stan Lee – much as I would love to be Iron Man, I’m going to just pop up in cameos and be doing all I can behind the scenes to ensure my team are Oscar worthy.
Having almost completed all of the first quarter appraisals, my measurement for team member success is seeing how they have tackled their individual Catalyst experience so far, what has been a struggle, what they have enjoyed and how are they perceived by members and colleagues.
We talk about strengths, weaknesses, and key project highs and lows in a constructive environment. We’ve got a great third team, which makes all the weaknesses really areas to be aware of and fine tune. The Catalyst programme has grown into something to be truly proud of.
The team are working on a set of project showcase outlines, to demonstrate the variety of projects we can deliver. A reason companies don’t engage with us is a preconception of our capability; we’re going to do all we can to stop growing companies missing out on such a unique resource.
I’m going to pinch your idea, Nigel, and have the tag line “Challenge Catalyst” – thanks for that - a great idea to encourage growing companies in Brighton, East Croydon and the surrounding areas to tell us what is on their to-do list that we can help with.
What do you need? Think we can’t help? Ask away, you’ll be surprised.
